Meet Paul & Cara Sporn ...

We took over the operations at My Sister’s Place in June, 2006. Natives of the Twin Cities, we’ve been regular visitors to the North Shore and Boundary Waters since childhood. Previously, we lived in Grand Marais for two years and then returned to the Twin Cities to be near our families.

However, the North Shore continued to call. The opportunity to buy and run My Sister’s Place brought us back. We enjoy working at the restaurant, and especially like chatting with our customers.

When we are not at My Sister’s Place, we are involved with our two young children in school and other activities. Paul enjoys hunting and is training a young English setter named Sam. He is active on the Grand Marais Business Council. Cara volunteers at the school and with the Cook County Hockey Association. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her children.

We are proud to support our community. We have donated soups to the Cook County Emergency Services Conference and participate in the EATS program for local schools. We also contribute to many other local fundraisers.
